New is a full-time external board professional since 2022. He has held positions as the CEO of Energy Systems Catapult Ltd (2015-2022), an independent, not-for-profit centre of excellence set up to accelerate the transformation of the UK’s energy system and ensure UK businesses and consumers capture the opportunities of clean growth on the way to Net Zero.
New has also been the CEO of BP Alternative Energy (2013-2014) and BP Biofuels (2006-2013). Before that, he was Vice President Fuels Product Strategy in BP Refining and Marketing.
Through his career, New has developed expert competence in the field of climate change management.
