At booth #194 at the GreenBuild Expo, Hydro's guests will be able to demonstrate ArchiWizard 3D software to see how building design elements can be varied to optimize energy use with the aim of developing zero-energy or even energy-positive buildings.
Hydro will also show its other proprietary software, Wictop, which generates detailed building façade costing, and automatically produces architectural cross-section drawings and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
In addition, the company will showcase its aluminium-extrusion based building systems, including energy-saving curtain walls, windows, and double-skin and unitized glazed façades.
The company's North American extrusion unit will feature mounting systems, structural components, and electrical connectors for solar and wind power systems. Hydro's products in North America typically include more than 70 percent recycled aluminium content.
Guests can also receive a free Extrusion Design Manual on CD, which helps users find innovative ways to use extrusions to solve difficult engineering challenges.
Leading the way
"Hydro has been leading the way in energy-conserving building technologies for more than 60 years in Europe," says Robert Welsh, who is responsible for Hydro Building Systems in the U.S.
"As America looks for new ways to reduce energy consumption and modifies its building codes to support this goal, Hydro is excited to bring its industry leading experience to North American customers."
In North America, Hydro provides aluminium solutions including supply sourcing, extrusion, finishing, and fabrication of components, as well as engineering and contract manufacturing services, for a variety of industries.
Hydro's building systems brands – Wicona, Technal, Domal and Alumafel – offer a wide range of aluminium-based materials and solutions for windows, doors, curtain walls, facades, railing, skylight and solar systems.
