Aluminium research team

Our researchers work to move boundaries of how aluminium is used. We develop design solutions that benefit from the properties of aluminium both technically and economically.

Academic partners

We work with major academic institutions around the world. Our partners include the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), the University of Oxford, RWTH Aachen University, Michigan Technological University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UFPA – the federal university of Pará, the University of Oslo and the Norwegian research institutes SINTEF and IFE.

Our research groups works with development teams around the world. They support customer projects and ensure a longer-term view for your aluminium solutions. We can assist you in:

  • Improvement of existing products and processes
  • Technical service and troubleshooting
  • Enabling technologies/innovation/intellectual property
The NaMo model is a software that can predict how aluminium alloys will react in a car crash or in any other kind of collision.
