Key experience:
Kukielski is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hudbay Minerals Inc. since 2019. He has more than 30 years of extensive global experience within the base metals, precious metals and bulk materials sectors, having overseen operations across the globe for companies.
His experience includes being the President & CEO of Nevsun Resources Ltd. from 2017 until the acquisition of Nevsun in 2018. From 2013 to 2017, he was the CEO of Anemka Resources, a private company backed by Warburg Pincus formed to invest in global mining assets. From 2008 to 2013, he was the Chief Executive, Mining for ArcelorMittal, and from 2006 to 2008, Chief Operating Officer of Teck Resources, responsible for the copper, zinc, gold and the metallurgical coal operations and projects, in addition to overseeing the commercial function.
Through Kukielski’s many years within the mining and metals sector, he has also acquired important competence within strategy and workers’ and human rights.
