Extel Pan-European Awards are presented every year, in various categories, by Thomson Reuters. Winners are chosen based on information received from surveys and voting from among the leading players in the European stock market and investor community, and large, listed corporations.
Analysts, investors, brokers and public relations employees in listed companies consider the awards among the most prestigious in the business.
Four different awards are presented in the category of investor and analyst communication. Hydro won three of the awards for Norway:
- Best company: Norsk Hydro
- Best individual: Stefan Solberg
- Best CFO: Jørgen C. Arentz Rostrup
In judging the investor relations work of the Norwegian companies, candidates are determined through voting of investor and analyst communities in Europe that follow the Oslo Stock Exchange. All the biggest companies on the stock exchange are considered.
A salute to many
Stefan Solberg, who is head of Investor Relations for Hydro, says the award for best company is a credit to the work being done by more than just the three persons in the company’s Investor Relations team at the Hydro head office in Oslo.
“There are a lot of people in our financial environment who have contributed to this,” says Solberg, who points to the good reporting in the form of financial reports and operational key figures as among the main reasons for the prize.
“We try to be available as much as possible, we listen, and we try to meet the wishes of investors and analysts.”
