In terms of production output, most operations are back to normal or near normal levels. The cyber attack has, however, caused delays to certain administrative processes, including systems for reporting, billing and invoicing. As a result of this, Hydro has today announced delay in its first quarter reporting.
“Maintaining normal or near normal production levels requires a lot of extra efforts from our 35,000 colleagues, and I am impressed with the spirit that has been demonstrated all around our company in these demanding times,” says Chief Financial Officer, Eivind Kallevik.
Chief Information Officer, Jo De Vliegher, says full recovery from the attack will take time.
“With 35,000 employees, operations in 40 countries on all continents and several thousand servers in the company, full recovery is a complex and time-consuming process. We are well on our way, but it will take time before we are fully back to normal IT operations,” he says.
Hydro’s primary objective remains to return to normal operations in a safe and secure manner, and limit any further impact on customers, suppliers and other partners.
For an explanation of the recovery process, have a look at the attached presentation.
